"A Warrior's
Invocation"
I turn to You my
God,
So that You can give me what I can't obtain
myself.
Give me God what is
left with You, what no-one asks You for.
I ask You not for rest, nor for tranquility,
neither that of the soul nor that of the
body,
I ask You not for
not wealth, nor for success, or
sanctity.
So many have already asked You for these
gifts,
That You must now be weary.
Give me God what is
left with You, what no-one asks You for
I want risk and restlessness,
torment and battle,
And give them to me now, once and for
all,
For I won't always find the heart to keep
asking.
